One of the extracurricular activities I am involved in is Teen Bible Quiz. This is a program for students 7th to 12th connected to my church where we study different portions of the Bible. All of the portions are from the New Testament. Also, the portions are spread out in a way that if you are in the program all 6 years, the portions will reset. Other than that, it instills determination, hard work, and team work in all the lives of the teens that participate. I personally, have thrived and excelled in this activity, and it has really been good for me.
Rowing has also been a big part of my life. Not only has it taught me the sport of rowing, but has also taught me many things about nutrition, never giving up, and pushing your body to the limit. In this sport, I have made friends and learned that with many things in life, if you work as a team, you will achieve your goals. I myself am captain of varsity boys in Philadelphia City Rowing, and the experience has been eye-opening. I plan on rowing in college, so this skill that I have learned in high school will carry on with me to the future.
My social life is also a big part of my life. Whether those friends are from school, from church, from my rowing team, or from anywhere else, hanging out with them makes me feel like I am loved. It makes me feel like I am a part of something. Still, as I get older, I know I will most likely get closer friends, but the number will become fewer. I will always be thankful for all the friendships I have made in my life nonetheless.
